The Carawagon was a professional conversion by Searle of Sunbury,
who were principally boat builders and who used traditional boat building
trades to bespoke build
these distinctive vehicles of which there are very few now left. A search
of the web will show up
some remarkable examples, including the military command and control
examples.
The model I am selling is the top of the range 4 berth Carawagon Continental.
It has a full length elevating roof, in aluminium and marine plywood
which is substantially rebuilt
and resealed with the remaining elements all here for finishing off.
When reassembled there are
two bunks in the roof and a bench seat running down the left hand side
which converts into a
double bed, to the rear is a cooker area. To the right hand side there
are cupboards
with a sink. One sliding cupboard door detaches and slides into two
slots to form
a desk/table. There is an extending frame for a rear tent.
